- ➤ Ocala property owner Sumner Real Estate Investments is seeking to rezone a .45-acre site at 3235 SE Maricamp Road—formerly used for batting cages—for a new drive-through restaurant at Maricamp Square. The rezoning request by Irvin Homes, LLC will be introduced at the Ocala City Council meeting on August 19 at 4 p.m. Ocala-News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ At around 2:35 a.m. on Saturday, a fatal accident occurred when a 28-year-old Belleview woman veered off State Road 35 and SE 102nd Place Road and struck a large tree—ejecting a 27-year-old Ocala passenger who was not wearing his seatbelt; the woman was later arrested on a DUI manslaughter charge and suffered only minor injuries.
