- ➤ Master the Possibilities is offering nearly 60 American history courses themed 'Exploring 250 Years of America' for adult learners this term. The courses, held in Marion County, cover topics from colonial settlements to modern events and require early registration. Ocala Gazette

- ➤ Local seniors in Marion County say rising property taxes weigh heavily on their fixed incomes — several residents have written letters urging a review of the tax system to ease the burden and help keep them in their homes. Ocala-News
- ➤ Marion County commissioners met on Tuesday at 9 a.m. to discuss a proposal for a veterans hall of fame that will honor local servicemen and women and their commitment to the community. The proposal, which has no budget impact, would create an annual recognition program. WCJB

- ➤ HCA North Florida is hosting a robot night today to showcase a new robotic surgical system that is designed to reduce complications and shorten hospital stays. Hospital leaders say the innovation will help improve patient care. WCJB
- ➤ Health officials reported that a new influenza A H3N2 mutation called subclade K — which partly bypasses the vaccine — is raising flu cases in 38 counties, and they urge residents to get vaccinated today. Ocala StarBanner
- ➤ Inspections conducted from Dec. 8–14 identified 14 Marion County restaurants that received follow-up orders for high-priority food safety violations. - ➤ Gaitway Plaza, a 209,028 sqft shopping center at 2701 SW College Road in Ocala, was sold for $42,250,000 to Next Ocala, LLC from Gaitway Fee Owner, LLC.
