- ➤ TV20's David Snyder is tracking several local stories in North Central Florida that include wrong-way driving citations on I-75 + HCA workers wearing pink for breast cancer awareness + survivors on a runway + arrests after field storming following a UF victory + ongoing I-75 construction in Marion County continuing through the year. - ➤ Today, Creative Springs is helping Ocala small business owners get noticed by featuring their work in Weekly Buzz – a move that eases the challenge of letting people know they exist. WCJB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ocala is considering spending over $250,000 to replace four police vehicles totaled in accidents over the past two years, with the proposal set for review by the City Council tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Ocala City Hall. The new vehicles will be 2025 Chevy Tahoes (replacing 2019 and 2018 Ford Interceptors). Ocala-News
- ➤ FDOT officials announced that parts of I-75 in Marion County will be closed starting Sunday night for construction that will continue until the end of the year — drivers should follow detour routes until work is complete. WCJB
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Breast cancer survivors walked the runway in Ocala for the annual Celebration of Survivors Fashion Show—an event that raises funds for All About You Angels to help local women battling cancer. The models shared their inspiring stories and reclaimed the confidence that cancer tried to take away. WCJB
- ➤ Workers at HCA Florida Ocala wore pink to work last week to mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month—Marion County firefighters also used a pink fire truck in support of the cause. WCJB
