- ➤ Niagara Bottling acquired Silver Springs Bottled Water Company in Ocala on September 3 for about $25,785,000. The Ocala business, which has served the area for nearly 40 years, will keep producing water from a natural spring—ensuring a steady local supply. Ocala-News

- ➤ The United States Navy will test live and inert bombs today from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Pinecastle Range Complex in the Ocala National Forest and will resume testing on Tuesday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 10 at the same time with additional tests on Thursday from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.—wildlife may be displaced during testing and nearby residents should secure outdoor items.
