- ➤ A Marion County man won over $27,000 in lottery winnings when Donnell Cox claimed about $27,124.21 from his Fantasy 5 ticket purchased at the Lake Weir Mobil gas station in Ocklawaha from the July 24 drawing—he was one of four winners who matched all five numbers. About 149 others claimed $117 each for matching four numbers in the drawing. Ocala-News

- ➤ Today the US Navy resumes inert bomb tests in Ocala National Forest—scheduled from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 4:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.—and will conduct further tests on August 19th, 20th, and 21st while wildlife is expected to be temporarily displaced and motorists are urged to drive with extra caution.
