- ➤ On Monday, June 23, a woman shot a Marion County sheriff’s deputy after a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. along S. Pine Avenue near SE Emmett Avenue— the deputy returned fire and sustained non-life-threatening injuries while the suspect was taken to a local hospital. FOX 35 Orlando
- ➤ On June 23, a traffic stop on South Pine Avenue turned violent when a white female suspect shot a deputy and the deputy returned fire, causing the deputy's vehicle to crash into a pole outside Budget Inn—she was hospitalized. Ocala Gazette
- ➤ A 61-year-old Ocala counselor has been charged with 14 counts of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft for billing insurance companies for sessions never provided—she allegedly used the names of 22 individuals between January 2016 and December 2022. Ocala-News
