ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Marion County has seen 26 deaths on its roads this year — five from alcohol crashes, four from drug-related crashes, ten motorcyclists, nine pedestrians, and one bicyclist amid over 2,000 crashes and ongoing hit-and-run incidents.  Ocala-News

  • Aldi announced that 18 new stores will soon open in Florida including one in Ocala at Marion Oaks Shopping Center on Thursday, June 5 where the first 100 customers will receive gift bags and a chance to win a $500 gift card. CRIME NEWS

  • On May 26 at around 2:45 p.m., Ocala police arrested 63-year-old Edmond Joseph Clermont IV at a RaceTrac gas station on NW Blitchton Road after he was seen completely naked and using a penis pump while waiting for an unknown woman—he is charged with exposure of sexual organs and failing to obey a law enforcement officer and will appear in court on June 24 at 9 a.m.  Ocala-News
  • At around 8 a.m. on Monday, Marion County deputies chased Leroy Graham (31) after his Chevy Malibu sped in the 2600 block of NW 27th Avenue before he fled onto Interstate 75; using PIT maneuvers, officers pursued him until he stopped on SW Highway 200 and was arrested for fleeing and driving without a valid license when he said he did not have one.  ClickOrlando
  • Christina Gates Thagard, a 40-year-old former deputy, was indicted for robbing TD Bank in Ocala on May 3 using force, violence, and intimidation—she was arrested minutes later during a traffic stop on Southwest College Road.  ClickOrlando
  • Marion County deputies arrested 42-year-old Cain Matias-Godinez on Wednesday during an undercover operation when he called a detective while driving to meet a minor after reaching out on Sunday to offer payment for sex with a 13-year-old—he now faces charges of human trafficking, using a computer to lure a child, and traveling to meet a child.  WCJB
