  • Marion County officials are hosting a photo contest for the 2026 Stormwater Calendar with a Wildflower Waters theme—local photographers must submit high-resolution outdoor photos with their name, contact info, and a brief description by Friday, May 30 at 5 p.m.  Ocala-News
  • An Ocala resident said that construction on Hwy 484 has stalled for months as new homes are built and traffic remains heavy near I-75—drivers now wonder when the work will resume. The project, which started more than 2 years ago, has seen no progress at key times during peak traffic hours.  Ocala-News

  • On Saturday, May 10, a red Mazda crashed into Massage Envy at 2701 SW College Road, Suite 601 in Gateway Plaza—forcing a temporary closure while Ocala Fire Rescue transported the alert driver to the hospital with no other injuries reported.  Ocala-News
