  • Terri Rhem-Robinson lost her iPhone 16 near Goodwill by the Paddock Mall and reported it to the Ocala Police Department who worked with Williston Police to retrieve it. On May 10 she, her husband and her son thanked Officer Joseph Semler in person for returning the phone that held a cherished voicemail from her late mother—making this Mother's Day very special.  Ocala StarBanner

  • A driver crashed straight into Massage Envy on Southwest College Road and was taken to a hospital yesterday—no further details are available at this time.  WCJB

  • Barons Creek Vineyards, a Texas-based company, opened its new wine tasting room at 16 SW Broadway Street in downtown Ocala on May 9 to serve its award-winning wines from Texas, California, and Spain. The tasting room offers wine flights and locally sourced charcuterie for $25 per tasting (open Tuesday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.).  Ocala-News

  • Ocala man Stanley Summer Jr. was convicted of premeditated first-degree murder with a firearm for shooting David Vega at a west Ocala home on Nov 11th, 2020—he received a life sentence after jurors delivered their verdict.  WCJB

  • Kash’d Out and Beach Fly will perform on Wednesday, May 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Historic Downtown Square on 1 SE Broadway Street as part of Ocala’s free Sunset Songs Series—attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets—to enjoy an evening of local music.  Ocala-News
