ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Marion County Fire Rescue was called at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday to a house fire on West McKinney Avenue in Dunnellon — firefighters arrived by 12:55 a.m. and saw the home 75% in flames — where one person was found dead while two people escaped as the Fire Marshal investigates the cause. WCJB

- ➤ Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ reopened its Ocala location at 2463 SW 27th Avenue on April 15 — its third reopening following closures in November and January — and now offers hot dogs, barbecue and axe throwing at Shady Oaks Shopping Center. The restaurant first opened in August 2023 and questions remain about its current ownership. Ocala-News

- ➤ Marion County Public Schools released a list of seven candidates for the interim superintendent role after Dr. Diana Gullett resigned effective at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. School board members will meet at 9 a.m. on April 17 to discuss the candidates—and will vote on the final selection on April 29 at 5:30 p.m. WCJB

- ➤ A report by FinanceBuzz listed nine Florida cities where couples living on Social Security — which averages $3,089 a month — can cover their bills with money left over. - ➤ Starting May 7th, travelers 18 and older must show a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or approved identification to board domestic flights, so residents who need a new or updated ID should visit a driver’s license service center with proper documents—those who renewed since January 2010 likely already qualify.
