- ➤ Ocala officials reported that a 52-year-old pedestrian was struck by a sedan around 9:30 p.m. yesterday on U.S. 441 near Southeast Third Avenue—he was pronounced dead at the scene according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers. WCJB
- ➤ Marion County Firefighters broke into a burning home in Ocala on April 6th—rescuing a cat trapped inside the building. WCJB
- ➤ Marion County Firefighters saved a cat from a burning home on Southeast 15th Avenue in Ocala around 5:00 p.m. on April 5th when an electrical fire forced them to break in while no one else was inside. WCJB

- ➤ Ocala business leaders today held the 11th annual youth business plan competition at the Chamber of Commerce where Marion County high schoolers pitched business ideas—giving them a chance to start their entrepreneurial journey—and building support for young talent. WCJB

- ➤ On March 20, Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested Peter Andrew Scotto in Ocala for alleged fraud after he posed as a licensed contractor and accepted over $45,000 from a local homeowner for a kitchen remodel—he will appear in court on April 22 after pleading not guilty. Ocala-News
