- ➤ City officials celebrated the renaming of a stretch of NW 24th Road — now called Whitfield Jenkins Road — on Friday, March 21 to honor local civil rights leader Whitfield Jenkins. The city council approved renaming three blocks from NW 20th Street to NW 21st Avenue near the Mary Sue Rich Community Center, noting his 50 years of service as a teacher and activist. Ocala-News
