- ➤ Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will open its first Ocala location on Tuesday, March 3 at 2410 SW College Road — inside the Ocala West shopping plaza — with drive-thru and dine-in service as the company hires new staff amid growing local retail activity. Ocala-News
- ➤ Mark Casse will become the sixth Chairman of Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company, succeeding Francis Vanlangendonck after his 35-year tenure. Casse, who has served on the board since 2001, leads Casse Racing operations with his wife in Ocala. WCJB

- ➤ Marion County Fire Rescue warns that dry conditions are raising fire risk as a burn ban remains in place; officials stress that even a lit cigarette butt can spark a blaze + urge residents to dispose of smoking materials safely. WCJB
- ➤ The Florida Department of Environmental Protection offers free day-use admission at Silver Springs State Park and Rainbow Springs State Park from Friday, Feb. 13 through Monday, Feb. 16 in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, although overnight fees and rentals remain in effect. Ocala-News
